Indian River Hundred

SC-53: So named in 1706. This hundred together with Lewes and Rehoboth, Broadkill and Cedar Creek hundreds formed what the early settlers called “Old Sussex.” Installed in 1932. Broadkiln Hundred

SC-29: Originally known as Broadkill Hundred, after creek of that name, kill being Dutch word for creek. Name changed by General Assembly 1833 when Georgetown Hundred was set off. Baltimore Hundred

SC-23: Prior to 1775 this hundred was claimed as part of Worcester County, Maryland, being named for Lord Baltimore. East Dover Hundred

KC-13: Originally part of St. Jones Hundred renamed Dover Hundred 1823, the boundaries being Little Creek on north and St. Jones Creek on south, extending from Delaware River to Maryland line. Originally known as Cedar Hook Hundred. Before 1683 that part of hundred lying north of Cedar Creek formed part of St. Jones County, now Kent County. KC-5: Originally embraced all lands south of Leipsic Creek and north of Little Creek from Delaware River to Maryland line.
