Cape Henlopen Lighthouse Replica Marker recognizes the replica Cape Henlopen Lighthouse, which is located in the center of the roundabout on the west end of Rehoboth Avenue. The replica lighthouse was built in 1924 as a real estate office, was purchased by the Village Improvement Association in 1928, and transferred to the City of Rehoboth in 1971. The lighthouse was relocated from Grove Park, near the intersection of Rehoboth Avenue and Grove Street into a new traffic circle on Rehoboth Avenue in 2004.

About the Dedication:Dedication is being held in conjunction with Village Improvement Association’s 110th Anniversary celebration. Reception will begin at 12 p.m. at the VIA Clubhouse (415 N. Boardwalk, Rehoboth Beach). Brief remarks relating to the new historical marker will be delivered by Speaker Schwartzkopf, Senator Lopez, Rehoboth Mayor Kuhns, and VIA officers at the VIA Clubhouse beginning at 1 p.m. Following brief remarks, guests will caravan from the VIA clubhouse to the marker site at Lighthouse Park on the northwest side of the Rehoboth roundabout, near Grove Park.
