Search Tips:

• The more search criteria you enter the more specific your results will be.
• The less search criteria you enter the longer it will take to process your request...be patient!!
• A race criteria can only be used for Kent and Sussex Counties.
• When searching for non-white, the results may be as follows: Negro, Black, Mulatto, Native American, or Hispanic. These terms are abstracted exactly as they appear in the text of the original record.
• Date must be entered in a four-digit year format using a two-digit century and a two-digit year (ie.  1959.)  If using "to" and "from" dates, the format is 1963 -1999.The search will try to find an exact match for any date entered.
• If using both Last and First Names as the search criteria, you must enter the full last name. The search will take the Last Name entered, add a "," and add the First Name entered (e.g. Last Name = "Smith" and First Name = "G", the search will be on "Smith, G". You'll get back all names that start with "Smith, G" as this is the way the names are stored in the database.)
• If you want to search on all names that have last names that begin with "S", simply enter "S" in the Last Name field.
• If you want to search on all names that contain an "S" anywhere in the name field, enter a "%" (without the quotes) before the "S". (e.g. "%S" without the quotes.)
