Details:
A new State of Delaware Historical Marker will be unveiled honoring Wheeler’s Park, a popular Harrington-area destination that provided recreation and entertainment for generations of Delaware families. Created in 1948 by Harrington resident William A. Wheeler, the park grew from a single picnic table into a destination featuring playgrounds, pony rides, a miniature railroad, nature trails and other family attractions. Known locally as the “Disneyland of Harrington,” Wheeler’s Park was a popular location for church picnics and company events before closing in 1977.
