During the Colonial Era Taverns, often called Public Houses of Entertainment, were multipurpose structures meant to serve the community. In Dover, Delaware, there were two taverns on opposing sides of the Green and during different stretches of time, both were run by women. Come learn about the Bell Family and the Battell family and how their women shaped both Dover and American history.
