New Historical Marker Unveiling – Bowers Beach Maritime Museum

Join the Bowers Beach community, local and state leaders, museum representatives, and the Delaware Public Archives for the unveiling of a new State of Delaware Historical Marker at the Bowers Beach Maritime Museum. Founded in 1975 in two rooms of a historic Main Street house, the museum has grown over more than 50 years into an important center for preserving and sharing the maritime heritage of Bowers Beach and the Delaware Bay. The new marker recognizes the museum’s longstanding role in documenting the lives and traditions of local watermen, preserving the community’s working waterfront history, and providing a place where residents and visitors can connect with the area’s maritime past.
