In Common Cause: Delaware’s Homefront in the Revolutionary War

Despite its small size, the Delaware State contributed a great deal to the cause of American independence, substantially more than just one battle and a midnight ride. The Revolutionary War would see Delaware transformed from a constituent part of a larger colony to an independent state in its own right. This would be made possible in no small part due to the contributions of Delaware’s citizens and civic leaders, who sacrificed their time, money, comfort, and safety for the common cause of America.
