During the American Revolution, the smallpox epidemic was a major issue for both soldiers and civilians throughout the country.  In this program, Dr. Stephanie Holyfield will discuss the impact of smallpox in the American Revolution. This presentation will provide information about the history of the disease during the colonial era, George Washington’s decision to inoculate the army, and how this epidemic threatened the outcome of the war.
