Dover Air Force Base – After the United States entered World War II in late 1941, the newly completed Dover municipal airfield was leased to the U.S. Army Air Corps and assigned to the Eastern Defense Command as a coastal patrol base.
Harold W. T. Purnell Photograph Collection – This is the Archives’ best collection of historical Sussex County photographs and features a wide range of subjects that give an excellent view of Sussex County life from about 1860 through 1963.
