NC-4:

First bridge built 1682. Used by Swedes, Dutch, and English before the coming of Penn, being road from Fort Casimir (now New Castle) to Upland (now Chester) and Tinicum. Second bridge built 1800. Toll bridge until 1832.

Installed in 1932.
