Governor duPont’s schedule for the week of February 15, 1981 when he signed into law the Financial Center Development Act. This Act led to thousands of jobs being brought to Delaware through the expansion of the credit card banking industry
Pierre Samuel du Pont, IV served two terms as Governor. He was first elected in 1980 and re-elected in 1984. The Financial Center Development Act was first introduced in the House of Representatives January 22, 1981. It was sent to the senate on the same day and passed by the 22nd of January. Governor du Pont signed the bill on February 18th of the same year.
