Celebrating 100 Years: Revisiting The Women’s Suffrage Movement
With “2020” Hindsight.
Lora Englehart from Delaware Humanities will present “Celebrating 100 Years: Revisiting the Women’s Suffrage Movement with ‘2020’ Hindsight,” at the League of Women Voters of Sussex County’s Semi-annual Meeting on November 14, 12:00 to 2:00 pm, at the Peninsula Golf and Country Club, 32981 Peninsula Esplanade, in Millsboro. As a nonpartisan organization, the League welcomes anyone interested in empowering voters to attend the luncheon program, regardless of gender or political affiliation.
The presentation is a lecture/discussion program funded by the Delaware Humanities, a state program of the National Endowment for the Humanities, which strives to “enhance our understanding of who we are, where we’ve been, and where we are going as individuals, communities, and citizens of Delaware.” Englehart is a freelance writer who contributes regularly to Chaddsfordlive.com and Today Media publications. Focusing on forgotten leaders who were not included in history books because of their gender or race, she has authored articles about Mary Ann Shadd Cary and women’s suffrage for various publications.
*A variety of luncheon choices will be offered at the set price of $22 plus gratuity. Reservations are required for this event. Please use the Eventbrite link to reserve your spot.
Please share this with others who might be interested. Friends, neighbors, guests very welcome, of course!
