Haunted Delaware

Lewes Cannonball House
Lewes, Delaware – The Cannonball House is named after the cannonball in the front wall. It commemorates the cannonball that hit the house in April 1813 fired from a British frigate during the War of 1812. The ghost of an unidentified former owner is said to haunt the house. The poor woman apparently got too close to the fireplace, caught her dress on fire and burned to death.
