Description::Hannah E. Stockley with her grandfather’s slave, Jints. Hannah’s grandfather, James Anderson, owned fifteen slaves on his Broadkill Hundred farm. Her father was Governor Charles C. Stockley who served from 1883-1887. This is the only known photo of a slave in Delaware.

Description:: Wallace Willin Maull (3 years 8 months) and his brother George Baylis Maull (1 year 7 months) clutch their Teddy Bears for the camera. After President Theodore Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear cub during a 1902 hunting trip, “Teddy’s Bear” quickly became a popular children’s toy.
