DESCRIPTION:A new State of Delaware Historical Marker will be unveiled
  honoring Wheeler’s Park\, a popular Harrington-area destination that 
 provided recreation and entertainment for generations of Delaware fami
 lies. Created in 1948 by Harrington resident William A. Wheeler\, the 
 park grew from a single picnic table into a destination featuring play
 grounds\, pony rides\, a miniature railroad\, nature trails and other 
 family attractions. Known locally as the “Disneyland of Harrington\,” 
 Wheeler’s Park was a popular location for church picnics and company e
 vents before closing in 1977.
