DESCRIPTION:Dover was not just any small town before and during the Re
 volution. It had access to world goods and had the money to purchase t
 hem.\n\nMany were educated and knew proper societal standards. Not onl
 y was it the county seat\, but it became the capital of Delaware in 17
 77.\n\nThe residents of Dover and the surrounding plantations felt the
  rise of patriotism and loyalty to the mother country\, but were also 
 concerned about how it would affect them.\n\nThey did not always agree
 \, but realized they needed to work together to move forward and keep 
 the peace in a town where everybody knew everyone and many were relate
