* July 3 - The Delaware Public Archives building will be CLOSED in observance of Independence Day.

* July 4 - Due to a scheduled event, Caesar Rodney Rides Again! , the Research Room will be CLOSED.

* Effective July 1, 2009 the Mabel Lloyd Ridgely Research Room hours will be Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:15pm, and the 1st Saturday of the month 9:00am to 4:15pm. Due to a scheduled event, the Research Room will be closed on Saturday, July 4, 2009.

* New services from the Delaware Public Archives available now at Shop.Delaware.Gov - Payment for online inquiries and books for sale.

Now you can pay for your “Andy Archives” requests online. When you receive our reply to your request from “Andy” you will be provided with a link to the Public Archives store where you can make payment with your credit card. We even have new flat fees for copies.

Also available at the Archives store, we have books that can be purchased.  Get your personal copies of the Delaware Archives Volume II & III, A Calendar of Ridgely Letters Volume 2 & 3, and unbound copies of Conrad’s A History of Delaware Volume 2 & 3.

* Trustees of the Poor Bastardy Bonds

Entries made on the bastardy bonds show the names of the sureties, father, mother, and justice of the peace; date and amount of bond; sex and date of birth of child; conditions of the bond; signatures of sureties and witnesses; and hundred of residence of the mother. Occasionally the name of the child is given.

The bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth  

In 2009 the nation is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth.

The Delaware Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission was established by an Act of the 143rd General Assembly, House Bill No. 491, which was signed into law by Governor Ruth Ann Minner on July 10, 2006.
