Stay in School

In 1915, the state decided to consolidate many of the small one room schools into districts. Caesar Rodney became an official district that year and built a brick, three story school. The School district was enlarged in 1919 when more outlying one room schools were added to the district. During the 1920s, many districts were experiencing poor attendance. It was felt the parents of children contributed to the problem by keeping their children home to work on the farm or in the shop.
