Delaware’s 1790 copy of the Bill of Rights

I Have the Right!

In 1790, the United States government created a Bill of Rights to address concerns for citizen’s rights. This Bill of Rights was sent to the individual states for ratification. Instead of sending a separate reply letter to the United States government, Delaware noted their acceptance to the Bill of Rights by writing on the bottom of the document itself. Considered the property of the Federal Government, the document has been stored in Washington for more than 200 years.
