Traveling in Style

The Jackson and Sharp Company in business from 1863 to 1950, built railroad cars and ships. Both men, Job H. Jackson and Jacob F. Sharp, had a background in railroad companies and manufacturing. Through photographs, they documented the construction of the cars and ships that were built at the company.

The Jackson and Sharp Photograph Collection includes photographs of the interior and exterior of many kinds of railroad cars. It also contains photographs of different types of ships built with shipyard views and ship plans. Drawings and blueprints related to rail car construction and equipment are also included in this collection.
